Find Your BOLD Ski Goggle Fit

The right goggle comes down to three things: face size, nose-bridge fit, and whether you wear glasses. Answer four quick questions and we'll point you to the BOLD model we'd recommend if you emailed us, because it's the same logic we use.

One thing to know: replacement lenses are frame-specific. Each model has its own lens collection. OTG and Low Bridge versions take the same lenses as their base model. For which lens to use in which light, see the Ski Goggle Lens & VLT Guide. Lost or damaged a lens or strap? See Replacement Parts & Accessories.

Youth vs XS: buying for a kid or teen?

Start with Youth for younger and smaller kids: it is a true kids' goggle with a smaller frame, a shorter strap, and proportions built for kids' faces. Morningside XS is usually the next step for growing teens, and it is also popular with smaller-faced adults, with adult replacement lenses and AutoTint available.

Age is only a starting point; face size and how the goggle seals matter more. As rough examples, a bigger 11-year-old can be ready for XS while a smaller 13-year-old may still be happiest in Youth. The real test is the seal: no gaps at the edges, no pressure points. If it is a toss-up, free returns mean you can try one and swap.

Do I need Low Bridge Fit (Asian Fit)?

Do goggles tend to press on your nose? Or leave a gap above it that lets in cold air and fogs the bottom of the lens? Then a standard fit probably is not following your face. Low Bridge Fit (also called Asian Fit) is designed for exactly this. It has a deeper nose cutout and foam contoured for lower nose bridges.

Signs to look for: a visible gap at the nose, fogging that starts low on the lens, goggles that slowly slide down. BOLD makes the Morningside Low Bridge (Asian Fit) and the Rambler Low Bridge (Asian Fit).

Low bridge and face width are separate things. You can have a wide face and a low bridge (start with the Rambler version) or a narrow face and a low bridge. That combination is more specific, so email us and we will help you choose between the Low Bridge fit and the narrower XS.

Wear glasses?

Three BOLD goggles are built to fit over prescription glasses: the Morningside OTG, the Rambler OTG, and the Morningside Max OTG. Notches in the frame let your glasses sit comfortably inside. Pick by face size like any other model; the OTG frames match their base model's fit, and there is no XS or Youth OTG. Compare all three in the OTG & Prescription Guide.

Prefer not to wear your frames on the hill? Prescription inserts are another route. Email info@boldouterwear.com and we will walk you through it.

Common fit questions

Which BOLD goggles fit a narrow or small face?

The Morningside XS, the narrow-fit version of the Morningside, built for smaller faces that find standard adult goggles too wide. Many women and teens choose it.

Which BOLD goggles fit a wide face?

The Morningside Max, the wide-fit Morningside, for faces that find standard goggles tight or gappy at the sides. The Rambler sits between standard and Max in side-to-side room.

Which BOLD goggle has the widest field of view?

We don't rank them by field of view. The Morningside has a taller top-to-bottom view. The Rambler has a shorter top-to-bottom view, with a little more room side to side. The Max is the roomiest overall fit.

Should my kid get Youth or XS goggles?

Around the Youth-to-XS transition, either can work depending on face size and how the goggle seals. Youth suits younger and smaller kids; XS is usually the next step for growing teens and is also popular with smaller-faced adults. Go by fit rather than age, and free returns let you swap if the first pick is wrong.

Do BOLD goggles come in a low-bridge or Asian fit?

Yes. The Morningside and Rambler both come in Low Bridge (Asian Fit) versions with a deeper nose cutout designed to prevent nose gaps and the fogging they cause.

Can I wear BOLD goggles over prescription glasses?

Yes. The Morningside OTG, Rambler OTG, and Morningside Max OTG are designed to fit over glasses. If you'd rather use a prescription insert, email info@boldouterwear.com and we'll help.

What's the difference between the Morningside and the Rambler?

Morningside: frameless, taller view, trimmer side profile. Rambler: traditional frame, wider side-to-side view, slightly roomier. Same magnetic lens system and package contents; their replacement lenses are not interchangeable.
